It’s that time of year again…Christmas in NYC! It’s the best time to visit the city in my opinion. Every year I take a walking tour of the city to see all of the decorations. It’s become a tradition that I look forward to each December. This year was extra special, as it was my friend Jamesa’s first Christmas in New York. Getting to see the world famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center is one of those New York moments that never gets old. Especially when you get to do it with someone experiencing it for the first time. My friends Megan and Nikki also came along, to see if my tour guide skills actually deserve the bragging rights I claim to have earned during previous years. The jury is still out on that, but we all had a fun night exploring the city we all call home.
My tour typically takes the same route each year. We start at the Bryant Park Winter Village and explore the holiday shops, then make our way up 6th Avenue to see all of the spectacular decorations. Then comes the main stop, to see the tree and skating rink at 30 Rock. We finish walking up 5th Avenue, to see the fancy stores and window displays, before stopping to warm up and have some holiday cocktails.
This year was no exception. NYC is magical during Christmas time and everyone should experience it at least once! Wherever you are spending the holiday season, enjoy the time with family and friends! I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
